Erin's Braces

So Erin got her braces yesterday. She was so excited all day, everyday since the day she found out she was getting them. Well now she is SO sore. :( My poor girl. I feel bad. It is also bringing back memories of when I had my braces. OUCH!I had a dream last night that Erin and I both had braces and all I can really remember about the dream was worrying about how we were going to make 2 payments. It was crazy. I was trying to figure out why I got my braces back on without figuring out how I was going to pay for them first.When we got home from the dentist, Autumn came running out to the van to see Erin's teeth and she was surprised at how cute Erin looked with them on. Autumn said "Wow Erin you look really cute with your braces". It was strange to hear a compliment come out of her mouth to Erin. Autumn told me that she expected the braces to take up her whole mouth, like not be able to see any of her teeth. Erin can't eat anything. Except soup. Erin is glad they make yummy soup. Well that's all for now.

My Brother came to town yesterday for a short visit. He was driving through and stopped here to pick up a tool box I've been storing for him. It was a good visit. We have always been less then close. I've wanted to have a relationship with my brother for as long as I can remember, however there is something in the way. ??? Don't ask me what it is! Since as long as I've known him he has always had a problem with me. It makes me sad. I've learned that I can't change it and he does not want to change it. My new family (Matt's brothers & sisters) are amazing. I have the brother/sister relationship that I never had with Donald, with them. Erin and Autumn sure love him.
I hope they don't get let down in there life like I was let down in mine. Going after the impossible.
Well Only 3 more days till Erin gets her braces. Now she is getting nervous. One day she is excited, the next day she is nervous. She will not like them, but she will be so grateful later in life.
Today is Saturday, and I'm already bored out of my mind. I always assumed Saturdays were for getting things done, spending some time together as a family. Matt spends SO much time in front of his computer!!!!! It bugs me!
Well now since I'm done complaining I guess I will get on with my house cleaning. I hope everyone (Kim) has a great weekend!

Erin's tooth

So today we went and got 1 of Erin's tooth pulled. She will be getting her braces in 1 week and she did not have enough room for her teeth, so they decided to pull out one. I was told that they would be pulling out the one behind the K-9. So all week I've been showing Erin the tooth they were going to pull out. Well today we came home and Erin tells me "Mom they did not pull out the tooth you said they were going to pull out"... I said "What?!?!?" So she showed me, I freaking panicked!!! They pulled out her adult K-9! I was seriously freaking out. I have always been told that your K-9's are your strongest teeth, and that they are also your most important teeth. So Of course, I called the dentist that pulled out her tooth, I said I think you pulled the wrong tooth (remember, the orthodontist told me it would be the other one) So they put me on hold and came back reassuring me that they did not. So I called the orthodontist, They put him right on they phone with me, he told me that the tooth behind her K-9 was just as strong as her K-9 and so they decided to just pull that one, he told me everything was going the way they had planned and he would talk to me more when we came in next week. OK...whatever happened to the parents knowing what in the heck is going on?!?! No one ever told me they were pulling a different tooth! No one ever explained anything to me until I was in a complete panic. I had Erin in a panic. We both thought they completely screwed up.
We are both VERY happy to know everything is the way it is supposed to be, it would have been nice to be informed.

Hi-Ho-Hi-Ho so off to work Matt goes. He left for Hatch this morning and was supposed to stay there till Friday, but he just called me to tell me that he would be back on Thursday. Plus he will be working in town the following week. So that is good news. I was wondering if he was going to be going up there every week. Even though I miss him when he is gone, I know that Heavenly Father is taking care of us. I feel so blessed.
I went and met with the stake President yesterday to finish up my interview. It was amazing. The spirit I felt in that room was indescribable. I still feel like I'm floating.
Erin is really looking forward to getting her braces on. She will be getting them 1 week from tomorrow. (Tuesday) The Dr. said she would be excited for about 15 minutes after she gets them. It will be so great for her when she is older. It will really boost her self esteem. Well I guess that's all for now. Hailey is in the kitchen crying for lunch. She just woke up from her nap so she is grouchy on top of being hungry.

Again...

Well Matt is going back up to Hatch next week. This time on Monday instead of Tuesday. He will be staying there until Friday. I'm bothered by this. He just got back! I thought there would be at least a week between trips. Plus he is going up a day earlier then before. I'm happy that we have a steady income now. But I miss him when he is gone, and so do the kids. *sigh*
At least I know he wont be gone in the winter. All the roads are closed due to snow. So I will have him, home then. He said I could drive up there on Wednesday and stay a day or two. I have done that before, but to do it every week does not sound like my cup of tea. I will have to see how I feel about it when the time comes. Who knows, I might just miss him that much.
Anyways...We finally went out and got a new T.V last night. It is great. The picture is clear and the colors are beautiful. We have been using this one that Matt's sister gave to us 3 years ago. It was good for awhile but it was definitely time to upgrade. The girls are happy, they get to watch Hannah Montana on it. Hailey keeps asking to watch Mickey Mouse on the new T.V.
She is a funny girl.
OK so here is the countdown for Erin...9 days till Erin gets her braces. Not counting today or the day she gets them.family

I'll give it another try.

I have not written in awhile because I always feel like I'm not doing it right. Well I talked to Kim the other day and she said all you do is just write what ever you want. So I decided I would give it another try.
Well life has been good for my family and I lately. Matt has a customer that has turned out to be AWESOME!!! He treats Matt well and they have mutual respect for each other. Mike (the customer) is remodling 3 motels up in Hatch, and Matt is helping. Plus, it is SOOO hot in St. George in the summer and it is about 20 degress cooler up in Hatch, so Matt is thrilled that he gets to work out of town this summer. He goes up early on a Tuesday and comes home Friday night and usally only every other week so he is not gone all the time. Sometimes I go up for 1 or 2 nights. It is nice to get away from the heat for me too. However, I must say thay there is no place like home. I like having my routine and knowing where everything is.
